Baiting Game

Agreed. We have severely degraded so much natural habitat that many native plant species are nearing extinction and the promotion of invasive species like the Bradford Pear tree is highly detrimental. Landscaping should prioritize the use of native plants to support local ecosystems and wildlife, rather than further threatening it.
I like that idea. A lot less maintenance too

Won't happen. Mankind has encroached too much on habitat. Plus the deer population was restocked. There's too many plants they like to eat on a manicured lawn

Yep. We have a deer lick and corn on the back of my property. The deer raze my shrubs and bushes first always. I’ve got a bunch of damn nets over everything for years. Yard looks like hell with all the nets.

The reason they decided to allow hunting over feed is because they are hoping more deer will get killed. Same reason for the 12 deer limit. We have extremely high population of deer for the amount of habitat. I rarely leave the house without seeing dead and live deer on the side of the roads. If more hunters were to take their limit and kill as many does as allowed this would help alleviate the situation but too many just want a big rack to hang on the wall. Not judging. Just stating the facts.

Personally I feel like you should be able to bait on public land same as private. Sadly big gov’t feels otherwise.
For those against baiting, I’d love to hear some reasons why other than personal opinions and CWD paranoia.
I think the reason they don't allow it on public land may be because they are afraid it will cause conflicts. Fights could start because someone is hunting over someone else's bait. That sort of thing. Not good when both parties are armed.

THIS IS WHY!

Kinda what I figured.
Thankfully I have private land, I wouldn’t want to hunt around some of my old customers without a bullet proof vest lol

I lived on the Indiana BORDER. We always heard the phrase brush shot. Meaning, shooting at something on the move. It was always a joking matter, until. One day I was in a gun shop and a kid was jacking his jaw then was bragging about his brush shot . What was really odd, this kid had to be carrying 20 knives. He had a knife where even he could clip one. This in a gun shop in Indiana.

some don't have common sense when it comes to baiting
neighbor down the road has a feeder about 65 feet from the road, and 20 feet from his neighbors property which is about 55 feet from that neighbors mailbox
if that feeder is hunted he would have to shoot down toward or across the road in line with other neighbors mail box
