Honest facts. The reason they decided to allow hunting over feed is because they are hoping more deer will get killed. Same reason for the 12 deer limit. We have extremely high population of deer for the amount of habitat. I rarely leave the house without seeing dead and live deer on the side of the roads. If more hunters were to take their limit and kill as many does as allowed this would help alleviate the situation but too many just want a big rack to hang on the wall. Not judging. Just stating the facts.
sounds like your typical big deal made out of nothingGeorgia DNR says that yes, feeding deer could possibly increase the chances of spreading of CWD. They have not seen any proof that it has happened and the Southern district has been allowed to hunt over feed since 2011. So far there have been only three deer in the state of Georgia that were tested and confirmed to have CWD. One in Lowndes County, one in Lanier County and one in Berrien County. All in South Georgia. To date, only two confirmed in Florida.
Kind of my thoughts as well. To date, SC has had zero cases reported and have been allowing hunting over feed since 2013.sounds like your typical big deal made out of nothing

Oh how the mighty have fallen. If you got caught bating back when I was hunting every season for every animal you would be dubbed a social outcast and not a real hunter. I still feel that way because I started hunting when people still had their 30-30 hanging in the back window of their truck. The only thing that we still accepted was a deer drive. 5 to ten people walked though the woods and did that for the kids to have a successful hunt but only for the youngins. Other than that it was a lot of pre season scouting and locating the food sources and where the deer were moving that year. That my friends is how real hunters go about harvesting a deer. Your success rate was increased with the amount of pre season effort. Just like in sports hard work and practice increases the luck. Like Gary Player said " The more I practice the luckier I get! Not just in Golf but in business and all areas of life. ".
Nah. That is acceptable because the deer can still get away. Also there is really no other way to bear hunt. You could sit in the woods everyday for 10 years and never see a bear. They have find the scent to give you some idea of where to go. WQuail hunting can be done without dogs where I hunted because you could go to where they landed. However, quail and pheasant hunting with dogs is remarkable. Especially if you have a great pointer and only moves upon instruction. There is nothing like it. Joe was the name of a dynamic bird dog. I used to go hunting with his owner every thanksgiving morning. Some of the best hunting I have ever experienced was with that animal..I grew up hunting deer with dogs.
