Does anyone use Ballistol to clean the inside of a fairly clean barrel. I shot my rifle a few times a day and just ran a patch or two get out the dark stuff out and then ran a wet patch with Ballistol through it just to protect it. Is this a common practice? I didn't did a full on cleaning just about three patches with Hoppe's and then a wet patch with Ballistol to protect the barrel until the next use. Is it that versatile?

Ballistol is primarily mineral oil which has been used for decades to clean and lubricate firearms and fishing reels.

I use Kroil down the barrels and on the ejectors then wipe/spray Ballistol on the outside.

I believe the brand of CLP is less important than the fact you actually clean your firearm. :D

I use Ballistol almost exclusively. It works for metal, wood, leather, doesn't degrade polymer. Smell decent.

Great when used with water for black powder and corrosive ammo.

Use it on almost all my guns and such, with the exception of those guns in long time storage. I like other products for that use.
