How accurate is the description of a 2 to 4 km range?

With this type of radio it all depends on terrain and other blocking obstacles, (buildings, trees, etc.) Can't argue with the price.

With earpieces and a shirt-collar microphone and a "Push To Talk" button, this would
be a good way to temporarily communicate with people while driving, riding motorcycles, off-road vehicles, etc.
