Got a few guns I want to thread the barrel on.
I have a 13x40 metal lathe and have done an old 10/22 barrel using a die and the live center in tailstock to keep it centered.
I have a couple of cans on order, and after some reading, this is not recommended due to the fact that the OD of the barrel is not concentric to the bore.
So is it best to -
use a 4 jaw chuck and buy a range rod to indicate the bore ?
turn between centers(One in chuck, one in tailstock)?
Any other tricks?
