exactly... thugs have the internet too. Now that it has been posted as a "hoax" what would keep them from setting up a similar plan. Maybe a box of puppies or kittens. People think hoaxes like these are funny... but they actually provide great ideas to bad people.

Reading the original post, it screamed Snopes/Urban Myth. Googling it reveals it's made the rounds for quite a while. Before passing on bad information, research it, so you can break the chain. Granted, my mother and many retired people are the worst offenders in passing this stuff on.

The other day, a good friend and co-worker of mine was driving home from the fire station after getting off of work...he was still in uniform.
He stopped to help a lady on the side of the road with her hood up on her car...he walked up and asked her what was wrong and he looked into her engine compartment. He was then pushed from behind onto the engine by a man and the guy said, 'Gimme all your money!'
Well, instinct and adrenaline kicked in and my friend whipped around with an elbow to the face and stunned him...he got one good shot to the nose on him and knocked the guy out cold. So then, the lady was tugging at his shirt yelling, 'stop, stop hurting him!' So my friend elbowed her in the face and she fell to the ground bleeding like a stuck pig.
Then he kicked the knocked out dude in the face and walked to his truck and went home!
He says he'll never stop to help anyone again!

I was out and about one day with my wife.
Riding through a neighborohood a guy pulled up and asked if we had a tire iron.
he said he thought his rear tire was loose.
We got out and walked to my trunk, he seen the ar laying there. I handed him the tire iron and he fumbled
with his tire said thanks and left.
I know they were going to rob us,because he never did anything productive to the tire,but realized they chose the wrong couple.

I saw someone broke down on the side of the road. I stopped and knocked them in the head and took their wallet. I thought it might be best to be proactive to keep someone from getting robbed.

Good point 07JKX. Someone has to think it up for them before they know what to do. I don't put much past anyone now days. Truly sad though, there are still some really good people out there. It would be nice if enough people stood up so that the criminals were scared more of the general puplic than the other way around.
