I always remind myself and family members who are trying to sell online that if an item isn't selling, the price is probably, but not always, too high. This assumes that all other portions of the marketing mix have been optimized.

Price elasticity seems the best way to explain this particular Sig not selling yet on the ODT though testing would be needed to confirm this hypothesis. :blah:

Nice Sig, good luck!

Police trade-in's brought the market price way down with your pistol, same thing with Walther P-5's Picked up a mint police trade-in P5 and love it, but can't see why anyone would pay 1K for the same pistol.

But I do get a kick when I see a P-5 listed for 1K that never sells and they won't come down on the price because they really believe it is worth 1K still!

Sigs are generally over priced for the pistol market. Don't get me wrong they are great pistols (i've owned 2 and lost money on every trade) but on a person to person sale the price is typically $250 to $300 less than retail for Sigs. This gun will sell if you list it for the gut wrenching price of $550. With CNC machines building guns nowadays, the fit, finish and operation on lesser priced models is equal and therefore the lesser priced guns sell quicker FTF and quality is still there for MOST guns. Also, the 45 ACP rounds are pretty high to plink with and folks want to shoot

No, they are not overpriced, just priced higher than some of the other guns out there. Sigs quality certainly warrants a premium price. How many other production sub $1000 autos go through the fitting, assembly process as a mated pair (frame and slide), not to mention higher quality springs, barrels, and finishes than most of the competition. Just because it is priced higher doesn't mean its overpriced. If you are serious about quality, you won't mind paying a premium. If you want a good utilitarian pistol, buy a Glock or XD.
Good Luck with the sale dude. Higher end pistols just aren't moving as well as there cheaper counterparts right now.

I am stuck paying my house and saving so I can double down on payments never know when I may be looking for a job you know think a lot of people are feeling that way.

I haven't sold anything on here without losing my shirt in about a year... Unfortunately, these are the times we live in. Nobody is buying anything anywhere unless it's a great deal. I'd say, wait it out. If you need money NOW, accept that you're going to take a hit.

you need another option for your poll. Too many cheap fockers on this site. :peace:And yes I include myself in that group.

Put it on sig forum, glocktalk or GB to increase your odds of selling. As long as you can get to a UPS terminal easily, shipping isn't anywhere near the big deal people make it out to be. Just make sure you have a copy of the receiving FFL with you if you ship, sometimes I get asked for it sometimes not, just depends on who is at the counter.

Price is about right I believe. If I had the cash, I would pay it. Quality guns demand a little more cash.

Problem is, the economy just sucks.....Any extra cash I have goes toward ammo....
