That movie is based on the shoot down of Scott O'grady. He's from my hometown and I attended the same high school as him. It was a pretty big deal when he returned to Fairchild AFB. Just a little background on the flick which I do like btw!

Actually it's not based on Scott O'Grady being shot down. It inspired the movie but it's not based on his ordeal.

It's a dramatization. He was shot down, he was rescued. Those are probably the only facts that made it into the movie.
