Berry College

Has anyone hunted at Berry College. I will be going there next month with my 14 year old son. Just trying to get a little first hand knowledge about the area.

Didnt know you could hunt there.. lol.. I went there once and there were deer all over the campus lawn. ALL OVER!!!

I thought it was against a state law to carry firearms on a campus, public or private.

You aint on the campus. Berry is kinda like a private WMA with quota hunts. Only certain days and certain ages of people. Im sure you can look it up on the dnrs site.

I have hunted up there several different time and you will have company no matter where you go. There is a lot of deer there. Next to the check in station it is mostly flat ground and thick. That was 4 years ago the last time i hunted up there. Texas Valley side of the WMA is mostly mountains. Good luck and keep your son fairly close people will climb a tree 100 yards from ya!!!

Now i have heard there are some GOOD bucks over on rock mnt. I have thought about headin up there one morning with my boat in tow and hunt till about 9 then fish till lunch
