Maybe take look at the VZ58?. Not an AK but some seem to think it's a better deal at that price. (Some would say even a better design then the AK )

Nope, that's a single stack mag if I'm correct. Seriously, get a WASR at a LGS so you make sure the sights are straight and shoot the **** out of it!!! It will be all you need. Also like others have said, if you can find a Yugo for around $500-$550, I'd jump on that!
