It’s a lot like guns. The ones who only shot Hipoints don’t know the difference.

I’m not talking down on you but could easily point you to a bottle within reason that could change your mind.
 
Snag a bottle of Woodford Double Oak for $40-55 and have a small pour.

To me it’s more of a dessert bourbon with heavy char and sugars. Fantastic neat or with a cube.

I like it a lot...but, I will admit that I'm a novice bourbon guy. I did what the OP described - trying to cut back on beer. I'm not a big fan (yet) of the spicier bourbons.
