Great place especially if your wife does not want to be away from bathrooms or showers. My wife won't do real camping in the middle of nowhere. Love this place, been going since a kid.

naw this will be with my wife who enjoys a shower and flushing toilet. I looked at sandy bottoms and that looks like a solo trip or something my brother and I might do. So I welcome all recommendations but I should have mentioned some specifically to cater to her needs. Lol

Lucky for me my wife likes camping. We tent camp at Red Top mountain, Coopers Creek, Dockery Lake, Lake Lanier and others. I fish at all of them. A great start for you would be to camp in a tent site at talullah gorge. There are bathrooms and showers with hot water. Hike the gorge and and enjoy the evening by the camp fire. Lots of little wife friendly shops in the area too.

Jacks River Falls
Anywhere in the Cohutta Wilderness
The Big Frog Mountain Wilderness
Penitentiary Branch Hiking Trail

If you want an awesome car camping location...
Go down to the okefenokee swamp. Stay at the state park, bring bikes if you have them, walk the canals (beware of gators!), fish, rent a boat for the day and go through the water ways watching wildlife/fishing. Great for kids and adults!

You can choose the mountains, the coast, the swamp, and just about anywhere in between except desert...
