Best ODT gun purchase

Drove up to Gainesville area to meet a guy and trade him a S&W of some sort for a plain nothing fancy Browning A bolt in 308 and then drove to Dawsonville I think it was to trade another guy that A bolt for a deluxe edition A bolt in 308. I wanted that fancy rifle and he wanted a plain rifle....he wouldnt sell only trade. Took about a week to work out and set up, but everyone was happy in the end. That was about year 2 of ODT.

Met a ton of cool guys on here and left one jack leg standing in a parking lot with less than the agreed price still in his hand...jaw still on the ground as my taillights went out of sight!! Other than him its been all good deals.

LOL. I hate the, "Well, how about a little less." at the meet. I'd leave too.

I don't know if I really have a "best." Won some, lost some, and everywhere in between. The best deal is that I've been able to try stuff with little lost. If I don't like it, trade it for something else.

Met a lot of good folks, even made some good friends. Learned a lot on here as well over the years.

Me too. Never have actually met anyone here that was a real pill. Well... Maybe that one guy, but I didn't meet him through this site. I did have one "aborted meet" with a member. Probably for the best too.

What was the best experience/purchase that you made here on the ODT. I can only imagine the stories that will be posted here. Lets hear them fairytales!

Hard to say lots of good deals for me.

I recall buying (2) M1A , 700 rounds of ammo and 18 mags for a smoking deal.

It was a pristine 4" blued King Cobra ANIB with all the goodies. He shows up 400 light and says thats all I got....I took the gun out of his hand, never said a word and got in my truck. As I crank it up and put it in gear he suddenly fishes out another wad of bills and comes running hollering for me to stay....I didnt hear the rest as I turned right onto the main road and hauled fanny!! What a putz!

I do have a list of guys to not be in a hurry when you meet with them. Those meets are an hour minimum.....and thats just leaning over the hood of the truck BSing
