Best roofing experience

We actually had a lot of hail last week. Anyways, I do feel it's a scam to get you to replace your roof. In my old neighborhood, I watched for years people replacing their roof about every ten years. We replaced ours when it started to leak. It was right close to what single life expectancy was. 25 or 30yrs, can't remember. So in 36yrs or so, we replaced the roof once. We were the original owners.
I get up on the roof every year and inspect it. Old house was twice a year. This one only needs once. The roof is much larger than the old one and it'll have to be replaced within the next 10yrs. The old one was like $5600 I think. This one will be expensive. Live in a larger home, it cost more money. Is what it is
You'll be in for a shock if you decide to pay for your new roof on the new house. Shingles have gone way up in the last 5 years. A certain company is increasing their price at the beginning of the month so that's gonna drive our sale price up. As it stands you're looking at $100-$125 a square for just your architectural shingles, plus all your other stuff plus minimum $100 a square for the crew if you go find an install crew yourself.

Hail damage will accelerate granule loss and affect the shingles ability to shed water.

When a new hail date is available for an area, we’ll get all we can get. Unless it’s significant hail, your roof would probably be ok with small impacts. However, why not use your insurance if it’s a legitimate claim?

Save yourself 10-20k.

Wait till y’all start getting the cancellation notices because your roof is 15 years old. Or you’re* policy switches to acv or rps at 10 years and when you need to use it, your footing most of the bill.
I couldn't agree more. I paid for mine out of my pocket because state farm denied my claim and after 3+ months back and forth with them I dropped them and went to Travelers, roof leak popped back up around a dormer after my repair so I just bit the bullet and paid for it. Luckily working in the supply industry I saved a little money and subbed out a crew from one of my customers. Still spent close to $10k on a 45 square roof in 2023 using my discount on materials and working a deal with the installers.

Was in the hospital with heart problems about three years ago and had hail storm , guy shows up talks to the wife , says he can get Allstate to pay for a new roof . Just needed $1,100 to get it started . Well , wife was in a bad way in her head , my problems , her dad having hip replacement issues after surgery , so she paid him . My roof was 30 years old , got nothing from insurance. Did get some pretty blue patches on the roof tho ! Called them for the money back , crickets . Changed numbers and skipped the area . Roofers are not to be trusted .

There’s a website where you can log in , pay a fee , $25-$50 and they satellite look at your house and tell you how many square of roofing it is . Called eagle view . Had another roofer quote me for 66 square of roofing , sadly I’d looked mine up and it’s 46 square . Told him to his face he was a f**king liar and a thief and sent him the eagle view . He was PI$$ed ! People , do your homework !

Yeah 10% increase on 4/1 from tariffs on raw material. If you’re in the perimeter and you’re not doing your homework, you’re getting screwed. I stay outside of the newly expanded perimeter 75% of the time.
Insurance pays a lot more for anything in the perimeter, so you have nothing but door knocking vandals everywhere. Hell, I live in pike county and “Georgia best roofer” vandalized my neighbors house we have been waiting to file.

I sent it to our public adjuster and she had a new roof in less than 2 weeks, if you have a bad insurance company, holler at ya boy!

We’re still getting them approved! $

Gaf quick measure is 27$
Roofr is only 12$
Hover is 30$ and a full 3D model of the entire exterior for like 65$ you can customize paint siding roof etc to see what it’ll look like before a major exterior renovation.

HERO Roofing came out and measured everything for free. We hired them. They did a great job, gave us a discount on the roof, new gutters with leaf guard and a new chimney cap as well. It looks so much better than before. Took 2 days to complete everything

They just sold out to private equity, so did perimeter roofing

Been wondering if they’d go down the tube or be able to sustain for a while.

The higher your roof is from the ground , the more it’ll cost too. Not much but I never knew they charged for that? I would lol. Don’t know how many squares ours is 1200sqFt living area (mid floor) with a high pitched end. Total cost was about $11,000 for architectural shingles . $1125 out of pocket with Travelers , Alec is the best insurance adjuster I’ve dealt with in 25yrs .

All travelers adjusters are easy, they’ll accept the smallest hail and 3-4 wind creased shingles on at least 3 sides will warrant a full replacement. You’re probably around 18-22 sq with waste, similar to my house. Sounds like you didn’t get screwed, I don’t get to say that often.

Two story access charge, steep charge takes more time to do these safely
