I worked at a TV station for a while.

Talk about a bunch of mental midgets!

Back in those days, there was no internet to speak of-and whatever came across the AP/UPI wire was gospel. Never did any of the "editors" do a damn bit of fact-checking or research. Not a bit. Whatever came from that wire was the "word of God."

Fortunately, it is easier for folks to do a little fact-checking with the availability of toms of internet resource. But-as we can see, many "journalists" are lazy and stupid. Hilarity ensues!!

The yellow pages for Clarke Co. back in the mid 1980's had a listing for Komoniwannalayya (sp?). It was found that a frat house applied for the phone with that name. It only made the first run of phone books before someone caught on and took it out.
