Black bear sighting in Braselton, Ga

Had a friend tell me he saw a bear on Jackson trail near hwy 11 last year.

I tried doing some research on this and came up with nothing. Last week I was riding my bike and came around a corner a black bear was standing about 20 feet off the road. I just kept on trucking. Anyone else heard of bears in the Jackson county area?

We've had some in the Stephens and Franklin co areas, not to far from your way

I remember one being hit by a car here in Gwinnett last year sometime right near sugarloaf country club.

I remember that too. It was on I-85 right near the exit for Sugarloaf Drive. If I remember correctly, that bear was tagged and made its way down all the way from Tennessee!


I just pulled the news article on that bear on Sugarloaf Parkway. You're right... it was on Sugarloaf Parkway! I don't remember this one. I remember the one being hit on I-85.

Having 'feed' available 'encourages' these beautiful creatures to be far less resourceful. This is the beginning of the end of their ability to provide for themselves as a native species. I believe your heart is in the right place. And I have no answers for this scenario.

I have seen a baby and momma in one of the nice neighborhoods right by the mall of Georgia. I've also heard of some in Jefferson but never have seen anymore myself or signs on my dads property

They are everywhere! We have them in our neighborhood! And I worked at wild bills and we had one in the dumpster!

Really??? At Wild Bill's??? I've seen some beautiful creatures across the street (diagonally) at Hooters as well!

I've never seen one here. I've never seen bears anywhere but Alaska, honestly. I'll be on the lookout.
