Bolt bounce issues AR15

I’ll say it again; bolt bounce, by itself, will not cause light primer strikes, unless the shooter pulls the trigger while the bolt is in the middle of the bounce.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's happening, I believe it's trying to fire out of battery and causing the light strikes, it runs perfectly fine with the stock trigger installed even though it still has the bolt bounce because it's not trying to fire as the bolt is bouncing

Bolt bounce, by itself, will not cause light primer strikes UNLESS you are pulling the trigger while the bolt is in mid-bounce.

I’m thinking your choice of FCU is the main cause of the light strikes.

What brand H3 buffer are you running? When you shake it, can you hear the weights rattle back and forth?

What is the brand and finish on your BCG?

That gas port is gonna need to be measured.

Did you buy this gun complete from PSA and modify it, or is it a home-build? If so, who built it?

It was a stock upper and lower from psa i started modifying it in hopes to eliminate the bolt bounce, i can't remember the name of the H3 buffer but it feels solid

you need to weigh your buffer. Just because it “feels solid” doesn’t mean it is a h3. They don’t come with h3 buffers. One of my pos builds had bolt Bounce and it was an H2 buffer, I bought an h3(5.4 oz) and it’s flawless.

Sorry I didn't mean it feels like it weighs like a h3 i meant it doesn't have the loose weights like some other buffer weights, i think I saw where the ones that have the weights that move act like a dead blow hammer and reduce bolt bounce, I did weigh it and it indeed weighs 5.4 oz

You’re placing too much emphasis on the wrong symptom.

10.3’s are violent, and I do not recommend them.

An 11.5” gives you another 40% dwell time, and calms things down.

The 12.5” gives you ANOTHER 40% increase in dwell time over the 11.5”, and is much smoother running than a 10.3”. 12.5” is the best choice amongst the short 5.56’s, IMO.

You BCG is still suspect, as is your gas port. If that’s a 10.3” PSA barrel, I’ll bet money it’s over-gassed for what is already an inefficient barrel length.

When you say your H3 buffer is “solid”, do you mean it seems like it’s quality, or that it doesn’t rattle when you shake it?

I can just about guarantee that if I had that on my bench, I’d find a minimum of 3-5 issues that need corrected.

You would love my little violent 7.5. 😂😂
