BUMP---Really starting to lean towards a .308, and it looks like Ruger Americans get good reviews and are in my price range. Would love to save the tax, and get one with a scope. I'm willing to travel a good bit...let's see what you've got!
I have had my Rem 770 chambered in 30/06 for 6 years now, not a fancy gun but shoots straight and kills deer so it's perfect for me.
cant imagine you having a difficult time finding what your looking for in your price range, this is the best time to pick up bolt guns!
