Both eyes open

Just open both, close non dominant eye and learn what the sight looks like then open the other and keep that sight picture prominent in your mind. It came natural to me but some say they have real issues with it.

Its so much better both open having all that peripheral and still shooting awesome groups.

Practice practice

Ohh and try a reflex sight if your having real issues or take a class

I've been practicing with both eyes open but I find myself closing my eye at times cause I'm still not confident i'm on. I practice acquiring targets while watching T.V. I like to practice on Piers Morgon.

You don't even need a gun to practice. Just point your finger at a "target" on the screen of the TV or something else in the room where you're sitting while keeping both eyes open. Without moving your head or your finger, close one eye at a time. You should notice that the dominant eye will always maintain correct sight alignment with the target while the non-dominant eye will not. Once you become comfortable with this drill, substitute a pistol (unloaded) for the finger. The dominant eye should always instinctively pick up the correct sight alignment toward the target.

After you become confident in aiming with both eyes open, take your weapon to the range and practice shooting that way.

Remember to unload your weapon while doing so although I suspect an accidental discharge is not unexpected from Piers Morgan.

When I first started learning to shoot both eyes open I would sit with an unloaded gun and practice dry fires. Close nondominant eye, get sight picture with dominant eye, open other eye and fire. I would do this every day until I started getting the hang of it. After a while I took it to the range with live fire. It' not that hard to learn and it is well worth the time it takes.

It could be a problem with which eye is dominant. If you are a right handed shooter, but your left eye is dominant you could have a real problem learning to shoot with both eyes open. This has been a known problem for a long time when learning to wing shoot with a shotgun. Here's a good way to find out which of your eyes is dominant.
