Bought a Vortex scope today

The Vortex Viper PST line are good scopes for the money. I’ve seen them fail for various reasons. I’ve seen more than one that was broke right out of the box. They’re made in the Philippines.

Of course, the Vortex Razor line is excellent. Made by LOW in Japan

The Crossfire, Diamondback, and other lines that are made in China, are all junk. Decent scope for plinking with a .22 in the backyard, and that’s all I’ll recommend them for. Crap glass, crap coatings, janky feeling adjustments, inaccurate adjustments, failure to hold zero, failure to return to zero, bad “fishbowl”, look bad, smell bad, taste bad, ownership will adversely effect your sperm count and credit score, every single one voted for Harris, Biden, and Obama, and they’re staunch supporters of both the ATF and IRS. I’m sure I missed 80-90 more things I hate about them.

Buy once, cry once.

I have an old Bushnell scope on my dad's 30-06. It has a bullet drop compensator built into the elevation turret. It came with an assortment of replaceable bullet drop compensator turret inserts. I put the 30 caliber one in and that thing works like a charm. I guess they just don't make them like they used to. I actually lost that 30 caliber insert because the top cap came loose. I lost the cap and the turret. Now take into consideration we bought that scope in the late '70s. A couple of years ago I called them and they actually had them in stock and sent me a whole new assortment and top cap for nothing. They even paid for shipping. The girl asked for my address and 4 days later I got it in the mail. I almost couldn't believe it. That scope has been hanging in there since 1978 and still hold the zero and as good as you can want it to. The scope was made in Japan and it's built like a tank but it's held up.
I still love my old Bushnell scopes, even the cheap ones. I’ve got a couple of Elite 6500’s that I really like.

You caught that did ya. My parents used to speak that and thought I didn't understand what they were saying. I knew what Christmas presents I was getting before Christmas and what I was getting for my birthdays and everything else because I understood them perfectly. 🤣 We older generations know what's up!

I didn't say I understood it, but I knew the language. I was able to translate it on the computer........:becky:
