MMmmm too damn hot I guess. All I have seen are a lot of babies, a good thing, and some small bucks. I can't ever remember seeing this many fawns survive into season before. All the mature bucks are moving at night so far.
Killed some dirt today. Had a big boar hog working his way up a creek that was down the ridge below me. Got up and eased down the ridge to intercept him and cut the distance down. He shifted course and began angling up the opposite ridge, while vacuuming acorns up. He stopped walking, then started rooting and there was a perfect hole in the foliage exposing his vitals. I drew, put the pin on the sweet spot and loosed. The arrow hit a small limb at the bottom of the opening and deflected up over his back, missing him by a good foot or so.
So freaking close!
