Bow Porn

Things must have changed since I tuned bows for wiley outdoor sports in the 80s and shot 3d competition when I shot 7th in the state of Georgia in the 90s. But what do I know.
The 1990’s were indeed a long time ago and bows have come a long long way since then. I started out bowhunting in the 1980’s, never shot competitions but my buddies never wanted to shoot at each other’s nocks with me. Even with all the new tech and everything that goes into a new bow, the max effective range is not ever gonna be as far as some now have the ability to shoot. Go watch Cameron Haynes shoot and tell me if you think his arrows could cleanly kill a deer at that distance. I seriously doubt it would.
Oh, and congratulations on shooting 7th in the State back in the 90’s. That’s quite the accomplishment. I’d like to see some pictures or the award that you received.

There was no award for 7th. It wasn't like today with participation trophies. Just the top three got something. I got a thank you for showing up. LOL I wish I had pictures but we didn't have camera phones and selfies weren't a thing. I did get awarded a nice hip arrow quiver for my time but I lost it when I was evicted from my apartment while I was over in Iraq.
So I have no proof I was ever even there.

To make matters worse I blew my shoulder out with a 70# bow shooting 250 times a day every day for a good 15 years. It finally gave up the ghost in 1995. I still have a recurve but haven't touched a compound bow since around 2001. I thought about trying again but I don't have a place to shoot anymore.

Bear Whitetail 2 riser, Sage 60# limbs, makes for a 64” recurve. Draw weight should come out in the low 60’s at my draw length, unless the limbs are under spec.
I had to modify the new limbs to accept the rockers from the factory limbs so that proper limb alignment is maintained. I have a new, 8125 string on its way, courtesy of 60X strings. I’m going to steer away from shooting off the shelf on this one since it’s cut so far past center. I’ll install an Octane Hostage rest to handle that.
I should be sending arrows downrange by this weekend.
