It was an awesome time. 2nd place wasn't too shabby considering this was my first time ever competing. I had a blast! See you in 2 weeks!

Nice shootin', home-stump! Second place, not too shabby!

What was it like? Can you give a description? How many entries, c'mon, man, DETAILS, for cryin' out loud!

HP only, huh? What caliber/gun combo were you using? What was the number one guy shootin?

This sounds like a lot of fun!

I see you're practicing your double taps ;)

Sorry, I posted that from the parking lot, I just got home. There were only 6 people there tonight. 5 pins setup on tables at 25 feet. All 5 pins have to be knocked off the table. Big bore guns the pins go to the front of the table, smaller bore guns the pins are set further back on the table.

Yep, HP only. Luckily they had some cheap WWB .45ACP hollow points for sale. I was shooting my dad's 1911. I can see what people are talking about now about going retarded when the buzzer goes off. I did alright but I have a lot of room for improvement. We didn't have a mag capacity limit tonight, it was just a really laid back have fun match tonight. I think having to reload is what killed me though. I was shooting for speed a few rounds and was missing.

We shot 5 rounds tonight.

My scores were:
1st round- 6.91 seconds. I killed it the first round, it was the lowest time of the night.
2nd round- 17.17 seconds. I was rushing and missing and I had one pin fall down but didn't go off the table and one reload.
3rd round- 8.22 seconds. I did alright, but I missed one pin so it took me a little longer than it should have.
4th round- 15.91 seconds. This round was pretty much a repeat of round 2.
5th round: 11.97 seconds. I missed one pin and had one fall down but didn't go off the table.

It was tons of fun! I can't wait to go back and do it again. Next time I'm thinking about shooting .22LR. I think I heard them say if you shoot .22 you have 6 pins instead of 5 because the pins are set to the very back of the table though.

Giles (me) was shooting a Glock 37 (the full size 45 gap)

It was a blast! looking forward to next time!

Awesome shooting man, you killed it!

Double-taps, yeah. LOL!

Tech problems posting from the hotel tonight. Times Square Marriott. Had to re-boot the laptop. It's working much better now.

Nice job, both of you! I don't even own any .45 HPs, so I'll either buy 'em or use the Smith .357. Better get 'em in six, though. My reloading skills are non-existent.

Can't wait, sounds like a blast!

I think they said you could use soft point or lead ammo as well. Pretty much just no FMJ's. I was debating using the Model 29 with some lead cowboy loads but I am not sure if they will allow .44mag or not. I am just going to be on the lookout for some cheap HP ammo in .45 or 9mm, and if I can't find any and they won't allow .44mag I'll just shoot .22.

Can't wait to do it again though, hope more of y'all can make it next time.

It was plenty close. Now i'm wondering whether to shoot the Glock again or switch to a 357 magnum!

You were killing it with that Glock man. You were by far the most consistent shooter tonight....Maybe we should all go wheel gun next time? Only of they allow .44mag though, my only other wheel gun besides .44mag's is a .38spl j frame.
