Boy the 2nd hand Microtech market sure has tanked, hasn't it?

I've had a Microtech for 15 years or so... I never really cared for it. A couple years ago, a friend gave me a Krate otf with my company logo lasered into it. I don't really care for it either but it certainly isn't $300 ****tier feeling. In fact, it's about as nice as the Microtech.

I'll stick with my bugout and let y'all have all the otf's.

Maybe also a commentary on the overall health of the economy. Sprinkle in the Christmas season approaching and the expensive hobby items take a hit.

Just a guess. I was always amazed at how huge the Microtech thread kept getting...
Agreed on the state of the economy and Chrimmuh right around the corner.

Personally I just never could buy knives that cost as much as guns. They have a bad habit of getting lost like expensive sunglasses and fountain pens.

I hopped on the Spyderco bandwagon and few years back, which now seems to parallel the MT experience. For me, while the Spydies were/are nice, many were overpriced, clunky, heavy units that i never much liked EDC-ing ( not counting Delicas and Dragonflies), and counterfeits were a frequently discussed threat. I sold off several, and have taken to toting perfectly serviceable, but more economical folders from KaBar or Buck.
I don't miss that sinking feeling of patting my pocket, thinking I just lost a $200 knife !

Christmas time and the economy in general as previously stated.
I’ve never spent more than $100 on a knife in my life and probably never will.
Buck, Cold Steel, and Victorinox have done me just fine.
The only otf knife I have is a S&W, for $40 it’s pretty solid just a little chunky.

I have a new Benchmade Adamis that I took on a trade with a member. I listed it for under half the price of a new one and got no takers, much less a comment or even a like. I'm sending it off to my Son. I showed him a pic of it and he's thrilled I'm giving it to him. He's never such had a nice knife to carry.

The price has skyrocketed on them, I've bought several of those brand new for $180
