My New Year's resolution is going to be to start learning how to build my own 1911. I want to start by knowing a 1911 inside and out. Anyone have a 1911 that is in need of repair or otherwise which doesn't work and sitting around collecting dust?

you get what you pay for especially in a 1911...not mine.
Buy cheap, and a good one is the exception, not the rule.
