What I haven't figured out is what is driving this. Is it simply a "viral" meme trend where people are independently group-thinking because of common pop culture? Or is there someone behind the scenes actively pushing and intimidating people?

In the 50's you had the "Red Scare" where you had the public turn against supposed communists, where people lost their jobs, and even went to jail because of their association with others or causes identified as socialist. (ah.. the good old days). But it was very much pushed by people who had an agenda, starting with MaCarthy and filtering its way down.

So, is this anti-CBF thing being stoked by the Obama Administration, feeling arrogant because they dice rolled their way on a couple of other social issues? Trying not to don my tin-foil, but its hard to do these days...

Yep. I'm sure it's changed a lot since I use to go dega, 80s, 90s but not to much I imagine. The boys come out of the bushes and hills to go to that race. It will definitely be worth watching.

All good theories, BUT, the last Talladega race I went to I was surrounded by yankees who flew in just for the race.

I don't think you'll see much of anything unless it's in the infield. And even then the networks will blur it out.

Remember the race sponsored by the NRA ? During the whole race no NRA sign was shown on TV. And the race wasn't even called The NRA 500 or whatever it was.

The only way you'll see anything on TV is if they can get a skinhead redneck with 2 teeth in his mouth acting a fool and getting arrested... THAT they will show.

The NASCAR crowd isn't the same folks it was 15 years ago.

Bubba has always been a little goofy and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. A bit of a pansy as well...and the least popular guy with his fellow pro's.
