Bug out Bag.....need advice

We looked around at available kits on the market and just couldn't find anything we liked that was made with quaility items at a price we thought was reasonable, so we put together the kit below which has become a very popular kit and now we cannot build them fast enough!

I picked up a kit similar to this one from TruPrep last year for my Dad. I wanted them to have something (They were not into prepping then). It's a good starter kit. I threw a couple of more items in. I had a knife engraved and gave it to him for his birthday.

There is a lot of good advice here. We did a bug out camping thing on 2/2 to test our bags. I carried both my bug out and my get-home to test em both. It seemed the most important things were a camo tarp, a fire starter, a chopping/cutting tool, a way to dig and a way to boil water/cook. It rained almost all night and it felt like it was in the 30s. WARM AND DRY MATTERS A LOT. Don't forget the toilet paper either. Lol. A bug out situation is an instant survival situation so what's in ur bag is what u have to work with but the most important think u can take with you is SURVIVAL KNOWLEDGE.

A stainless steel canteen that u can boil water in an open fire with is a must. My machete chops and digs. And CORDAGE IS BETTER THAN GOLD
