I was looking for a different project for this year and I have always wanted something in 10mm. So I was looking at frames and parts and then at RIA 1911s in 10mm. Well those RIA guns are all around $700.00 which is a no go. Not that I can't spend 7 bills...just not all at once...plus shipping plus transfer etc.
So the question here would be is it worth it for me to build one frame up? From what little I have seen I believe I need to start with a 38 Super style frame which of course is more than a 45acp frame. Has anyone here done this project? What is involved that I could be missing here? Should I just find a Glock G20 and call it done? I mean that's not out of the question. But if I am going 10mm I kinda wanted a show off barbecue type pistol. Not something that looks like 11 million other Glocks. If you know more on the subject than me please enlighten me.
