Build sheet/range report for your cheapest AR build

I'm positive everyone has seen this rifle by now and is probably sick of it, but it fits the bill, so here goes nothing.

[Broken External Image]:

Colt 6450 Complete lower
Colt 6921 14.5 inch m4 barrel
Troy flash suppressor pinned and welded to bring barrel to 16'' by me.
Bushmaster A1C7 upper
IDF sling and furniture bands

Built in January 2013 during the hight of the crazy. Total invested is less than 400. I had to search forums all over the country for each individual part. In fairness, I found the Colt lower here on the ODT for 350 after I had already bought and built a GAAD lower. I bought the Colt lower and sold the GAAD lower for 350. The Colt lower is actually worth more than I paid for the whole gun.

Stop "pulling the trigger" and try "squeezing it". As silly as that may sound, it changed everything for me.
I should have said squeezing, wrong word choice. I may indeed pull more so than squeeze so I'll work on it. I have a couple other things I can get sweet groups with but I'm just not there yet on the AR stuff.

I would seriously consider a trigger job, take up the under travel, and practice good trigger fundamentals.

Using all brand new parts...you could start with a $40 psa blem up, $50 stripped Anderson lower, and $100 SAA barrel. That would get you on your way. A ptac lower build kit for $50ish and $90 bcg and ch combo would probably be your next choices.

Gotcha, one of my rifles had a dead spot on the trigger that I always flinched at. It sucked but taught me to break a bad habit. Almost wish I ha never fixed it.
