If you dig the range so that the lanes are about 20 feet below surface level then the berm only needs to be about 10 feet high. You'll already have sides that probably won't need deflector or berm. Might have drainage issues but you can always run a sump pump. It will also help to keep the noise down so it doesn't bother the neighbors as much.
