Bullet in the barrel!

I was shooting up some old 357s in a GP100, and one round sounded kinda weak. I decided to take a look and the bullet was half way down the barrel.
It took some pounding but I got it out.
I'm just glad I didn't drop another one behind that one.

You are clear that this was a squib load right-- without powder? It had nothing to do with the gun. You ought to be calling Tula, not S&W.

Tula ammo isn't exactly known for its high quality. My reloads are certainly better than Tula factory ammo.

Anyway, S&W isn't going to "take care of you". They're going to tell you the same thing I am, though maybe more politely.

That was my first thought, but it happened first with a Winchester white box round, and now with a brass max. I'm thinking there's a possibility that the barrel may be out of spec or something.

So, did you fire the round and it get stuck in the barrel? I was assuming a squib as well, which I haven't ever had except with my own reloads, and then only once. If you chamber a round, does it leave marks on the bullet? Thinking the headspace could be off causing the bullet to be in contact with the rifling...

This^^^. Has nothing to do with the gun. It is the ammo's fault.

NO POWDER IN ROUND. NOT ENOUGH TO WORK SLIDE TO EJECT ROUND OR PUSH BULLET OUT BARREL. NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR GUN. BE PROUD IT DIDNT EJECT AND U FIRED NEXT ROUND.

Yes. The round fired. I didn't notice anything different except the failure to eject. Once I dropped the mag and racked the slide the casing popped out.

Definitely sounds like a squib. I would expect it to very odd with factory produced ammo, but you never know. Usually the primer alone has enough energy to push the bullet about an inch down the barrel. How are your primer strikes? Don't know if a light strike would produce a light ignition, I think its more of an on/off thing... Did you notice any powder in the case when you ejected it?
