Bushmaster AR15 rifle worth it?

I'm kinda curious to try out a Carbon-15. I keep seeing them pop up in the $800 range BNIB with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot.

I had one for a while and liked it a lot. I'd say it's a good "2nd AR". If you're only going to have one AR, I'd make it an all metal one. There are parts on it that are not the same spec as other ARs. I think even changing out the hand guard is a problem.

The redot usually isn't the TRS. It's Bushnell's budget reddot that sells for $50-$60. It was ok, but I've heard much better things about the TRS.

You used to be able to find the Carbon's for under $700. That time is gone though so $800 isn't terrible. I heard that they were extremely popular so there's a bunch out there. I'm hoping they pop up used for under $600 eventually.

Don't know about the new Bushmaster bought out by the freedom group, have heard not as good... I purchased a Windham Weapondry AR15 a few months ago and it's really nice, very happy with the fit, finish, accuracty and shoot ability, after putting magpul furniture on it I found I like it even more! When I posted up prior to buying it on the ODT got alot of positive responses telling me to go Windham.

If your not aware, Windham Wepondry are the folks that use to make the Bushmasters before they got bought out... There are alot of good AR's out there, if I were shopping again I'd be looking at a Rock River as an option or Palmetto State Armory.

Thanks yeah I got into the ar game not too long ago. When I came in, everyone saying DD, colt or noveske, no one else! So I got the impression those were the top. I'll have to actually shoot these side brand rifles to see myself. I've heard of good reports for bushy, PSA and windham

I have had 4 bushmasters all slightly older, and they ran perfect, I had my beloved colt LE6920 and that thing was a beast.

Even though I never had a problem with my bushmasters they are NOT on the same level as the COLT.

I always see the bushmasters, M&P's and colt similarly priced new. Why anyone would buy an inferior product for the same amount always boggles my mind.

Yup colt been making rifles longer than most people living on here. So they know and tested their product. Probably the most experienced maker in ARs.

They aren't the best ARs but they sure the best AR for the price.
