Buyer wanting DL# and GWCL # on the bill of sale

So help me out. If the cops (for whatever reason) ask for proof of ownership, your not willing to support a member by saying you sold it to him? Would you be ok just giving a signiture, date and phone number. We all know that once the authorities get possession its gone. Just asking, no offence.

i dont have a problem with it. im neutral really, i think its the right thing to do to ask someone up front, but i wouldnt get offended if someone asked me to

there are alot of people out there who believe practicing in filling out a BOS is standard and is to be expected whenever doing a transaction with a private person is concerned. some folks think its part of the process, so you shouldnt get mad at someone elses ignorance to a perceived law

like i said, i dont have a problem with giving my name, date, and signature as well as a description of what was sold, i certainly wouldnt give them negative feedback (of course this is assuming they are new traders and are not familiar with trading etiquette, such as asking for one before the meet takes place)

We REALLY need a part of the original posting to have a BOS required box. Check it yes or no. Would make everyone's life much easier!

Thats kind of what I was thinking. People ask for a reciept for lawnmowers, computers, or most anything with a relitive high value. Why not a firearm. Just keep it simple.

I'm okay with description of weapon, my name, gwl number and county of issue on paper. and that's all I would ask from someone else. and I'll show my D.L. to prove that I AM the gwl holder.
D.L. No, address, phone number, dob, shoe size etc. NO.

Yup. I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes you got to make things idiot proof. Even though the law says this, folks want that. It would make the deal smoother for some. I only had one real problem and it was at a gun show. Guy said no to me looking at his drivers license.....Oh well, I walked on the deal.
