Calling all plumbers

Not a plumber…

But sounds like you blew the wax ring plunging a downstream blockage. So your wet hallway came from the toilet which is a cheap fix. To know whats going on with the blockage, Id find out if someones been flushing wipes. To know for sure you’re gonna need a camera.

Good luck. Thats NO fun..

OK wasn't sure. It's not an add-on. I didn’t cut out anymore sheetrock to follow the rest of the drain line. But it was going the right direction to the toilet.

I think you're right. I was plunging away at that toilet like a madman for a minute. If the seal blew, the water could have found it's way between the tile and the concrete I bet.

Did any of the toilets, tubs, shower, sinks down stairs back up, if no then the blockage may have been between the upstairs and downstairs. I know my upstairs bath, toilet, sink uses a 3 inch line then to the main 4 inch in basement for the whole house to septic. I had a similiar problen in the 3 inch line (upstairs plugged up, toilet and shower but a 15 ft snaking cleared it out. As far as water on your first floor , it flows down so maybe it was a wax seal upstairs, hopefully not a bad pipe in the wall. I'd leave what you cleared open a couple of days , let it dry out and keep an eye on it.

This was all on the 1st floor. But I'm gonna do like you said and leave it for a week and see if anything still leaks.

If you had a bad wax ring, tile floor on a slab, the water could still travel along the slab and you would not see it.

This didn't occur to me until harrycalahan harrycalahan posted above, then it clicked. I think y'all are right.
