Calling all plumbers

Dang. Happy holidays.
Right? This was last Christmas...

The shower and tub were full of water and the toilet was full of water too, nothing was draining. All of a sudden it was like a damn was opened and everything drained all at once. I think whatever the clog was, finally broke free. Checking it with a sewer camera would still be a good idea I think.
a plumber is probably cheaper then replacing all the damage you might get by asking a computer screen what to do.

I didn't think about the water level being higher than the wax ring.

I've actually been meaning to walk around outside and try to find the clean-outs, I would think there HAS to be at least one outside somewhere. I knew where it was at the old house bc I had to make sure not to hit it with the lawn mower. I've never spotted one at this house.

you may not have one if not on a septic tank
if your slab on grade it may be hard to pin point where the pipe leaves the house

I gotcha, I didn't know that. I just assumed I'd have one, the old house was on a slab on city sewage and I had 2 cleanouts there. This house is the same, slab with city sewage.

Ok so we've been using rhe hall bath toilet bc I thought the master toilet (the one I plunged aggressively) was leaking.

Well...the hall bath toilet is the one that's leaking. I used it one morning and the water started coming out around the toilet. I stepped into the hall and the water was coming out from under the laminate.

So I'm going to find time to run that 25' snake down that toilet and see if I find anything. I'll pull that toilet up and replace the ring.

In the meantime, I started putting the flooring back, I've learned a lot about laminate flooring. I went into town this morning and ordered 4 boxes of laminate, there's 8 planks per box. I figured I was going to need between 25 and 30 planks. So that was $460.

I got home and started going through all the laminate and it turns out I'm only going to need about 4 planks. Ugh.

Still I count myself lucky that so far I'm only $600 deep into this repair. Plus whatever the plumber charges if I wind up needing to call one.

if water came up in the shower/tub which are higher than the toilet wax ring
that wax ring which is at floor level let the water seep out
now to find that stoppage
do you have a clean-out on the outside next to the house
if not think about adding one like this, it sure can help snaking back toward the house without having to get on the roof or pull a fixture
And put one of the pop top lids on the Cleanout

That way if the line backs up between the hoise and the street , the sewage leaks into the yard and not into your house .
