Can anybody recommend some good hearing protection?

Peltors are great I use them at the range...Caution don't fold them togeather until they have dried from the sweat or it will damage the batteries and circut board

I got some custom inserts from a booth last year at a show. Think the guy is at mall of Ga. Fit great. You still get some pressure blast but quiet. I still sometimes also use the electronics also if I doors.

After personally seeing four pairs of Radians Pro Amp electronic ear muffs fail after light use- I will never recommend them. Sorry- not quite on point with your question, just my experience. (three pairs belonged to some friends I shoot with- mine crapped out last after about two years of weekend range trips)

I'm looking at the same Howard Leight muffs for my next pair. Interested to hear from someone that's been using them awhile-

I have been using a set of Howard Leights for 3 years now. I got mine when Midway put them on sale.

My have been used about twice a month for that entire time. The only thing I have had to do is replace the batteries once. I really like them as I can put in ear plugs and then turn these on and at full volume, it is like not wearing muffs at all. I can hear everything.

I also wear them when hunting with my handguns and besides a bit of wind noise when it is windy, I don't have a problem picking up a critter walking through the woods and don't suffer from the post shot "ear ringing".

For the price that Amazon has them, it is a good deal.
