Induction. They didn't show the entire surrounding area, but most likely there are high voltage transmission lines or a high power radio transmitter nearby.

In other words, the guy in the video has two tiny 3v batteries hot glued in between the magnet and coil. The slight resistance of the magnet drops the voltage to 5.9 instead 6v.
