Canik Ghosting?

Hmmm... this thread reminded me I have one tucked away. It’s one of the Elites in 9mm. I dry fired it at my LGS and thought the trigger was outstanding and the sights were decent and I impulse bought it for maybe $350 or so. They used to be pretty cheap guns. Not sure what they go for these days. I’ve had a few semi autos over the years and it had one of the better triggers out of the box for that type of gun... though my experience is pretty limited. That LGS has since closed but a few years ago they were selling them so frequently I wondered if they were buying them by the pallet. I went in weekly and I swear every other time someone was filling out paperwork to take one home.

I need to go shoot that damn thing. It’s nice to hear they’re holding up. I just thought it’d be good as a cheap plinker for 9mm because, y’know, 9mm ammunition is so cheap and all...

I would also add that Canik’s factory is NATO and ISO-9000 certified, meaning these pistols are service grade and are actually issued to a number of police departments and militaries worldwide....you can web search to find out what ISO-9000 standards mean in manufacturing quality if you don’t already know....

IIRC Canik is an approved builder of NATO weapons.
Tristar just importer, they're made by Canik. (Turkey)
Didn't the original TP9SA have 1 or 2 issues? Thinking
all the subsequent TP9 editions aok. Sold my T100
recently, seemed like the thing to do at the time.

I think (from what I recall reading a few years back) the original "issue" with the TP9SA was the fact there was no "safety" on the gun but there WAS a de-cocker....but if you decocked the weapon, it had to be re-racked to fire....they changed that with the TP9v2 that I bought (for $299) ...when the gun is initially charged it is in SA but can be de-cocked so that the first round fired is DA which adds a bit of safety while being carried....I really like that feature myself.
