Car break ins no longer require "breaking" your car--I cant escape theft in this City

Couple years back some loser broke into my civic in a Kohles parking lot. Took my tool box ( he got 20 bucks for what was in it) and left the brand new set of makita drills next to it untouched. The reciept was in the drill bag, and we were next door to the home depot I got it from. That's what drugs do to ya.

Man I hate to hear about you guys having your stuff stolen from you. Stories like this really piss me off. I hope the police catch these thugs and they all wind up getting beaten and/or raped in prison. (and no I dont mean that as a joke, I have no tolerance for thieves)

Amen. Thieves are the worst man, look at congress lol.

I went to lunch with an engineering consultant at a upscale restaurant near Windy Hill & Powers Ferry. I won't name the place...but for those of you who know the area, it's not hard to figure out the place in question. Rode with the consultant in his Honda Pilot, and he chose not to have his car valet parked. Came out about an hour or so later to find the driver's window smashed and his iPod and GPS were all that was taken. He had a pair of sunglasses in the console that cost more than either the GPS or iPod...but those were left untouched.

Anyone care to guess what is directly across the street from the lower parking area? An older apartment complex...probably full of transient degenerates that otherwise couldn't afford to live in this area. Don't get me wrong...I don't equate apartment dwellers with scumbags in a blanket statement. But out here in Cobb County...apartment complexes seem to be the breeding ground for a lot of illegal activity.

Anyway...apparently this happens so often that the manager of this restaurant keeps a cordless shop vac on the charger in his office to clean the glass out of their customers cars...:tsk:

i drive a ****ty looking nissan truck...............................leave it unlocked all the time

This is a key part of my "theft deterrent strategy" as well. If you drive a dirty-ass beater, like me, the crooks just deduce that you must have nothing worth stealing. No beater break-ins yet!

Nope, my civic was a beater. 94 ugly as hell tape on one of the lights and all.

Put me down in the unlocked group, beater or not. I keep nothing worth more than the window (or convertible top) in there anyway.

There's a reason it's called "a car" and not "a safe".
