I don’t have any of that stuff in my vehicles.

As the government requires better gas mileage, revenue from gasoline tax goes down. I would expect some requirement to measure mileage for an alternate road tax before much longer. We’ll be paying for miles driven, divided by areas, divided by times before long.
I've been expecting that on the EVs.

Yep. My elderly Dad just doesn't understand why I hate these new vehicles. I think even my Wife is on board these days
After you watch enough car channel/mechanic channel videos you start to realize that damn near everything rolling off the assembly lines these days is junk . Worse than that it's done deliberately to force everyone back into more car payments as soon as you get done paying for the last one.
I bought my 15 Ford Fiesta from CarMax last summer. Yeah I know I paid too much but I got to avoid hours and even days of standard car lot bull****. But the point is we needed a car and I kept it as basic and cheap as possible. Seriously, as in five speed manual and roll up windows. Oddly enough it has power locks. I THINK it does Bluetooth because I see things on the radio screen that looks like that but I don't care either way. I don't want my phone conversation blasted through the speakers anyway. I have a Bluetooth stuck in my right ear most of the time and that's more than good enough.
At least two different people at the local CarMax asked me if I was aware that the car was a stick shift. And I said "Yeah I know. That's why I waited for y'all to transport it here from Lithia Springs."
Right now I really want a later model Crown Vic P71 and or a first gen Tundra reg cab long bed and or maybe another Trailblazer cause they're just comfortable vehicles.

I remember reading about the FBI made a Rico case years ago by having the Onstar mic activated in a mobsters new Cadillac, for months and months they listened to every word spoken in the car.

I knew back in the 70s there would come a time I would no longer want a new vehicle. It lasted longer than I thought it would.
You're probably the most versed on vehicles around here.
The Vic should be a good one. I've had a few along the way. Have a Merc now
