I don’t have any of that stuff in my vehicles.

As the government requires better gas mileage, revenue from gasoline tax goes down. I would expect some requirement to measure mileage for an alternate road tax before much longer. We’ll be paying for miles driven, divided by areas, divided by times before long.

Already in place! Insurance company ask you how long your commute is
 
90% of jurisdictions across the US require the measuring device to be able to testify as to its accuracy and calibration. This is primarily why most (not all) camera citations are dismissed. That being said, unfortunately, in states like North Carolina, they can visually estimate your speed, and it will hold in court. I don’t see this being an issue anytime soon. What I do see is LIVE Ai vehicle monitoring and braking via GPS but I suspect we are 10 years away from its inception.
