Cartersville Douthit Ferry Highway Expansion

The endangered species doesn’t even slow them down anymore. There is a bridge and pump station goin in the river near me. They acknowledge it will effectively kill off the endangered fish species and they have no problem tearing down a historic mill.

There ain't nothing about Cartersville rural.

Not anymore unfortunately. Born and raised here but starting to think it’s time to run north to avoid the Atlanta creep. East Tennessee has been my spot to explore more before committing. I’m not that old (33) and catch myself constantly thinking that’s not how it use to be…. I fear what we are leaving our kids if things don’t drastically change. Fat and happy drones is what this country is building

I worked at Cherokee ford in canton then Woodstock in 1993-99, townlake parkway was a two lane road, they blasted a rock hill 40-50 high about 1/4 of a mile back and four laned it houses and strip malls moved in, I used to test drive cars I was working on up sixes road, a small two lane road with double wide trailers that dead ended into bellsferry and woods, now sixes is a four line highway that dead ends in a massive golf course/mega shopping mall/water park/ mansion complex, that’s what’s is coming to Cartersville with this road.
