I think that there were several mistakes made in this case.

1. The DA's office didn't charge her right.
They should have charge her with Murder 1, 2 and Manslaughter 1. And here is why.
when the charge is Murder 1, the DA, has a greater burden, they must prove their case, beyond any doubt. Yes they had lots of circumstantial evidence, but they never had a silver bullet. ( keep in mind that the charge, carries a death penalty in FL) and no jury in his right mind will turn a guilty verdict with just circumstantial evidence.
2. However I think the jury would have turned a guilty verdict on a Murder 2 or a Man 1.(accidental death???)

Do I personally think she did it? YES. maybe not with premeditation, hence the Man 1 charge.
Was it a slam dunk? No way. the body of evidence wasn't enough.
Did the local police and the DA, messed up the investigation???? maybe so.

Looks like Fulton county isn't the only one with a sloppy DA's office.
