I am a reformed in the closet tree hugger. I am ashamed to say what I did with the waste engine oil back in the day. I did not know any better, just followed the lead of the old school neighbors- one was a diesel tech and the other an airplane mechanic. Both were born in the 1930s.

They used to spray it on swamps to kill mosquitos. Farmers also used to drill holes at an angle into fence posts and fill the cavity with waste oil. Lasted longer than pressure treated.
