Cats

The cat population around here is dwindling. Yotes are gettin' 'em. We think got one of ours we had since a kitten.

Not sure if you have coyotes in your area but beware.

Female cats tend to be better hunters. We were having problems with Chipmunks eating wires under the hood of seldom driven cars and rats in the chicken feed. 2 cats and 6mo. later, the only thing in the yard is cats, dogs and chickens ( The CDC Ranch)

Yup. I live a few miles from the Silver Comet Trail, and the closer you get to there in the neighborhood the more 'missing cat' fliers you see regularly. Definitely coyotes, as I've seen them around. One of our friends' dog sniffed out a half a cat right on the side of the trail in the bushes. Tore him apart.

I am dog guy... Absolutely hate cats... Hate em with th a passion. However there is a young tomcat that has showed up at our office. I have a lot of chipmunks and occasional small rodents outside. If I brought this cat home and kept him outside would he do a good job on chipmunks? Anybody have an outdoor cat?

Forgot to answer the question. Yes, our outdoor kitty murders chipmunks left and right. My gf absolutely hates it, but I sure do like that cat more than I do our yard rodents.

Last year this little fella was in the process of being a snack for a coyote one night behind where I live (he was making lots of noise) and it was lucky for him I showed up. One eye gone, canine tooth punctures and torn up pretty good. Yote split and I picked him up and drove him to the vet. Got him fixed and a neighbor helped get him into a no-kill shelter and a few months later the person that worked at the shelter adopted him. Strangely enough I got a picture of him wearing a black tie and stretched out on red silk sheets a few months later (no kidding).

The little ****er is doing well...:)
