I don't think you can hunt some African game with a 30 cal rifle , im sure someone here knows , im thinking 375 is the minimum for a few of the bigger animals . with the right bullet I feel the 300 RUM could kill anything

Yep, on everything you said.

22-250 (because we can't chose a rimfire.)

300 WSM will take care of practically any big game.

375 RUM to take care of anything the 300 WSM can't. It's also a heavy hitter for medium long range. Hand loads can produce the same trajectory as a 180 grain 30-06, but with a 300 grain bullet.

To truly do anything: 223, 30-06, 458WM (I think some African countries have a 40 caliber minimum. If I'm wrong, replace 458WM with 375H&H.)

To do anything I'll actually do: 223, 6.5CM, 300WM

Well that will depend on your presumed uses obviously so for ME, I have no desire to hunt off of this continent nor do I ever intend to hunt grizzly, so given that, just to be a little different yet using availability as a practical concern:
.22-250 (varmints, deer in a pinch)
.30-06 (Tons of bullet choices for everything in north America I'd ever hunt)
.44 mag (Up close and walk about)

Thank GOD we aren't limited to 3.
