Cerakote Durability Issues

My most intricate Cerakote jobs were $300 max. Single colors were about $100 to $150.
You paid $150 for a complete single color cerakote on a complete AR????...i do cerakote and the labor alone in time and prep cost more than that...ill sub all my work out to them if you can give me the name of this reputable shop that does work that cheap and backs it up...

Indeed good sir.

Frankly I just can't believe what I am reading. Shotty coating and the rifle doesn't cycle right. It takes a whole lot to get me angry but I believe that would do it. I really hope they make good. If they continue to ignore you I would out them in a heart beat. If you don't want to then tell me and I will. I don't mind a suspension. Three days in Folsom is a cake walk. LOL

Easy their Greg, put down the pitch fork and torch. I think the OP got it fixed. 🤣

I do have an update

I picked up the two rifles last week and they look a whole lot better than they did. The owner said he supervised the entire project, both rifles feed reliably without any issues.

The cerakote still has a bit of a chalky-ness to it, but it feels better and doesn’t scratch easily.

Will I go back to this shop? No.
Am I generally frustrated at the experience? Yes.
But I do think they owned their mistake and fixed it. I won’t bash them publicly, but if folks want to PM me, I’ll pass along the name of the shop so folks can make an informed decision if they are shopping for a cerakote shop. My experience is just that and judging by the very positive reviews they have online, it seems to be an outlier. They might do amazing work otherwise and their willingness to try and fix the problem should have a positive reflection on their integrity. I just don’t think they are that good at cerakote and they charge too much. Your mileage may totally vary.
