Cheap handgun for the truck

You want cheap, I would trust a Sccy before several of the ones listed here! I have had 3 so far and not a single issue.
Trigger is horrible!
Sights aren't great!
diffently not a fun one to shot but it will go bang. Didn't I mention cheap and can be found everywhere!

Here's a picture of 2 of mine the B6 stainless I picked up at a pawn shop for $275 and the K2P another pawn shop for $225

How much is your life worth?

Cheap, find a used Glock, don't buy a clone when a used original is as cheap.

Or, if you must, get a Taurus G2C model, should be sub $250 out the door.
I have a G3C that I got used for just under $200.00. There are a few differences between it and the G2 you mentioned but probably not enough to matter. I REALLY like it. I'm not a big Taurus fan but not a hater or any kinda gun snob either. With that being said I dig the overall size of the G2/G3C models. Smaller and a little narrower than a G19 or clone. Only gripe I can think of is that Taurus factory mags are expensive. Seriously usually in the $30.00 to $40.00 range.

I've got an old KelTec P11 that I bought for a car/truck gun many years ago. Horrible trigger pull, but has always gone bang when required. Not a great monetary loss if stolen.
Discontinued now, but probably a few lying around unloved in pawn shops.
9mm, DAO, 10 or 12 round mags.
Let me know when you get tired of that Kel Tec.

I don't mind Taurus. I love their 1911's but when I get one I put 600 dollars worth of Wilson Combat parts in em. I would love to find a 357 revolver on the cheap since I have a good stash of ammo. However, 9 mil ammo is cheap enough to stock up on if need be. I will take all these recommendations and start a search and just see what pops up. I have a buddy that owns a pawn shop and usually cuts me a deal on guns if I buy one. I am sure something will show up. As long as I have my phone I can refer back to all the guns you guys mentioned and pick one out that presents itself. I am not to picky just as long as it does the job.

I would suggest a revolver.
Reason being is they are much more reliable in the situations you have described. It would take more abuse and grit, etc., than a semi auto and still remain reliable. I love my semi auto Colts, etc., but carry a revolver 90% of the time.
Just my opinion tho.
Good luck in whatever you decide ! :)
We have plenty of auto pistols here at my house and I dig all of them ( especially since I picked them out) . But my instincts tend to go with what I learned from Boomers WAY back when. I have a Charter Undercover snub next to my side of the bed and an old FIE snub in 32 Long stashed in the linen closet.
No, I don't wanna go to war or get into a shootout with either one. But I KNOW that when I grab either one it will go bang without fail.
