Cheap handgun for the truck

Cz p10c for $350. Why don’t you just get a holster and carry…? Are you planning to leave a loaded gun in your truck and only carry it from your truck to the front door?

Smith 638 can be had for under 450.
Safe pocket carry without a holster.
Accepts +P ammo.
Doesn't drag your britches off of you with bulk weight.

Or,Aim Surplus has Glock LE trade in gen 3 and 4 Glock 22s for 279- 299 with free shipping
They also had Glock 23s for 319 I believe, with free shipping.

please don't "kiLl EvErYOne iN FRonT oF You" with a shotgun, one of the primary rules of being a responsible gun owner is to "always be aware of your surroundings and what's around/beyond it".
that said, someone here is selling a nice scorpion with a tailhook for a good price.

LE trade in M&P 2.0 can be had for low to mid 300’s and has WAY better ergos than a glock. The new XD mod 3.0 has a retail of $325 and also has far better ergos than a Glock. Both of these platforms (SCOFF) are arguably better than Glocks at everything you can desire of them and they aren’t $600 for a used one on the ODT :becky: :bolt:

  1. Get a doorbell camera.
  2. Put motion-activated flood lights on the corners of your house.
  3. Carry a pistol concealed.
  4. Put a lock box made for your truck console.
  5. Now you’ve just spent however much money on basic precautions and you won’t quibble over $400-500 for a basic sidearm from a reputable manufacturer.
  6. The way you talk about dropping money on ARs makes me think this is a question of priorities more than a question of cost.
There are already a lot of suggestions for different manufacturers and models in here so I will defer to those.

spare parts guns are fun

The revolver idea is a good one, but what if the bad guy brought a friend or two?

Sounds like while in your yard/driveway you don’t have to worry about flagging anyone around you, so… I vote semi-auto compact or full size with a bright light.

You don’t like Glock, so get a LE trade in M&P 2.0 or a CZ. Add a Streamlight TLR1-HL ($100 used) for a very bright, reliable, & affordable light. Just make sure it’s the “HL” model.

I’ve got a full size Springfield XDM 9mm with new night sights and a few mags, if you’re interested lemme know. Shot it for years and it’s never given me an issue. Been looking to sell it but been too lazy to post.

And in all seriousness… you need to figure out some additional lighting around your house/property. And Ring cameras are great.
