American citizens and legal residents that file jointly with a spouse that has only an ITIN instead of SS# (not necessarily but likely because they’re illegal) were previously excluded from the stimulus. In other words, citizens and legal residents didn’t get a check because they are married to an illegal alien and file jointly. The new bill now allows the citizen/legal resident to receive a $600 check PLUS they are now eligible for the first $1200 check they didn’t get, which means they can get up to $1800. Illegals and/or people without a SS# are still excluded. At least according to the bill’s verbiage.

Those of us still working shouldn't get the stimulus money, imo. Give it to the folks who worked in restaurants, bars, gyms, etc. and the single parents trying to weather the storm.

Dig this stuff : Along about April my wife’s bosses came along and said that because of covid - they needed everyone to cut back to 32 hrs a week from 40. Along with this was the cut in pay.
The company- Eastern seaboard- naturally told all the employees to file unemployment for the extra hours missed - due to covid -
Everyone filed, ironed out the process, got deposits to cover 20%missing pay from folks paychecks.
It did not last long....August or so. The company says “everyone back to full time”. Peeps filled in within a two week period. Things pretty much went to normal.

November: GA unemployment starts in that the company HR rejected all claims saying that peeps made too much to file ???!!!
Gone through one virtual hearing - and one appeal virtual hearing. With GA State Labor saying that each individual is responsible for the amount collected !!

I have not worked for more than 10 years without income. I sold my father’s inheritance guns when i ran out of money (too proud) . It could be worse. Lol.
My ole lady works hard...i try to keep any extra pressure off of her. But we are good.
So now we wait to find out what the verdict is.​
